A refined farmhouse restaurant near Xagħra that gave us one of our best meals since moving to Gozo, and the perfect date night.

Every now and then you have a meal you know you'll be talking about for a long time, and Ta' Frenc was definitely one of them. From the beautiful setting to the incredible service and some of the best food we've had since moving to Gozo, it exceeded every expectation. Set in a lovingly restored old farmhouse surrounded by the Xagħra countryside, it has been one of Gozo's standout restaurants for decades and sits in the Michelin Guide.
As much as we love exploring Gozo as a family, it's also important to make time for us, and this was the perfect date night. If you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a romantic evening or simply want to treat yourselves, we'd absolutely recommend adding it to your list.
It's a grown-up, refined sort of place rather than one for the children, so we'd suggest booking ahead and going without the little ones. You'll find it just off the main road between Victoria and Marsalforn, so it's an easy drive from most of the island.
