Affiliate disclosure
Last updated 17 July 2026
Draft. This wording has not been reviewed by a lawyer and the business details are not final. It is here so the page exists, not because it is ready.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book or buy through one, we may earn a small commission. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes what we say about a place. We would rather tell you somewhere is not worth it than earn a few euros pretending otherwise.
What this means in practice
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to book or buy something, the company pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same as you would have anyway.
Who we work with
Depending on the place, links may go to booking platforms, tour operators, or car hire comparison sites. Where a place has no affiliate programme — which is most restaurants — we link straight to their own booking page and earn nothing.
What it does not buy
- Nobody pays to be listed here.
- No company sees a review before it goes up.
- A commission has never changed a rating, and never will.
- We have written unflattering things about places we earn from, and will again.
If we would not send a friend somewhere, it does not go on the site — regardless of what it pays.
Places we have not visited
Some entries are marked as somewhere we have not been yet. Those carry affiliate links too, and they never carry a rating. We say plainly where the recommendation came from. See about us for how that works.
Advertising
We may show display advertising in future. Ads are sold by a network and are not endorsements — an advertiser appearing here has no bearing on what we write.
